Ever saw a gaming controller that looked like a steal deal and wondered whether the package was worth it compared to your Xbox One controller ? Well, we bring to you one of the best deals on any controller that we’ve ever seen. The Logitech Gamepad F310 is a simple controller coming in at Rs. 1300/- but what it lacks in looks it makes up with its warranty – a long 3 years. Yes, we know that’s more than what any of your controllers would probably last but that is just what makes this a steal.
Coming back to its design, its totally made up of plastic but sits in the hand quite firmly with comfort. The buttons are clicky enough though the analog sticks do seem to be quite springy to get back to their mean positions. The D-pad gives good feedback though it looks and kinda feels gimmicky ( But Hey! Break it and get a new one, it’s quite cheap ). L2-R2 is totally satisfactory but L1-R1 feel a bit cheap with noise when pressing them. The centre is adorned by the logitech logo on a button that acts as the Xbox controller’s giant Xbox button does. Other than the Logitech button, there’s the start and back button with a mode shifting button that swaps the D-pad with the left analog stick. On the backside there is a switch to shift between Direct input and X-input.
The Xbox controller, simply put, feels premium enough for most people to throw in an additional Rs 2300/- over the Logitech gamepad. With quite a few revisions from its predecessor, it not only gives the sleek and sexy look but also delivers in performance. The controller is wireless. It also comes loaded with a 3.5mm headphone jack to plug in some headphone beasts like the Astro A50s.
Coming to the experience, the buttons feel premium when pressed. The L1-R1 buttons are clickable and it gives a feel similar to when you click on a high end gaming mouse. The L2-R2 buttons are long and when pressed, they move smoothly, hardly making any noise. The Logo of Xbox also acts as its turn On/Off switch. It uses standard AA batteries as its power source. When it comes to experience while playing rough, gore and violent games, the vibrators fitted in it deliver beyond expectation(The F310 lacks a vibrator). The D-pad buttons also feel premium and do their work without any problems. The most enticing thing about the controller is how exceptionally well it fits into the hands. The super sexy design perfectly fits into the hands and there are no awkward positions while operating it that may give you pain in your fingers or palm later on. Overall Microsoft’s 100 Million Dollars that went into the research for the controllers have not gone to waste.
There is a more premium version made for professional gamers, the Xbox One ELITE controller. Xbox quoted, “It’s an elite controller for the elite gamer”. It features a steel construction with a soft-touch plastic exterior, along with interchangeable rear paddle buttons (with either short or long forms), analog stick tops (concave and convex), and directional pad designs (either the traditional four-way design, or a concave disc-like design), and “hair trigger locks” for the triggers that allow users to reduce the amount of distance they must be pressed to register a press. Through software, users can customize button and paddle mappings and adjust the sensitivity of the triggers and analog sticks. Two button profiles can be assigned to a switch on the controller for quick access.
