If you are using a Moto Z Play or if you have even considered it in the past while choosing your phone, it’s strongest suit would’ve been the battery life. Yes, Motorola did marvels in that department for almost all of its phones along with having a feature like Moto Display that should’ve drained the very best of battery packs. It did so through careful engineering and using the Android feature Dose launched in the Marshmallow version.
Been a year since the phone close to the heart of almost every traveller launched and now we have the second generation to a phone love by many. So, did Moto do right by shedding off some of that battery to have a slimmer profile overall ? Well leave a comment down below on your thoughts.
Meanwhile, let’s discuss the phone itself! It still retains the overall same form factor ( obviously due to the forward and backward compatibility promised by Motorola ) but is a few inches thinner. There’s still that ring on the back carrying the camera and flash setup. Even though the phone is kinda big it sits under 150g making it comfortable even with the Moto Mods on. The front carries a standard 16:9 1080p AMOLED panel with a single speaker on the top and and a pill shaped fingerprint scanner. The front facing camera has a flashlight to brighten up those selfies.
On the inside there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 comfortably sitting in with a 4GB/64GB memory (RAM/Internal). It is of the understanding that like the 625 in last year’s Z play, the 626 should provide enough horsepower with giving a proper battery life but real world usage will tell the rest of the story.

There is the usual bundle of Moto modifications over the UI that’s totally stock but topped with useful features. Like the G5 series, the Z2 Play gains the one-button navigation support to increase overall screen real estate available to the user.
