After 4 successful top of the line phones, Oneplus catapulted all that it had learned and brought it into its thinnest shell yet to throw off against the giants. The Oneplus 5 is a well built package just as you’d expect with metal being a primary component overall to give a sturdy look and feel. There’s a new dual camera setup on the back much like that of the Iphone 7+ ( from which it takes only the placement of the camera mind you ).
The phone runs on Oxygen OS on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat with 6 or 8 GB of RAM topped with 64 or 128 GB of fast internal storage. The base model costs $479 and the top model is $539. Oneplus jumped in prices between the 3 & 3T and the 5 is not an exception. This does make us feel that what was a great budget phone line with the Oneplus One is degrading on its promise and could soon be priced in the big leagues with the Samsung Galaxy s8 and the Iphone 7 in the coming years.

We couldn’t provide much insight in this post regarding the Oneplus 5 as its more like the Oneplus 3T in many ways on paper and theory. Anything new about it could only be felt in day to day use and we couldn’t get our hands on it’s review unit.
